What I'm Lovin' Right Now...

Once again, I am totally stealing an idea from Jess over at Nerdy Jess. Because I'm a follower, not a leader, people! I'm having some major blog inspiration brain farts lately. So, what do I do? I "borrow" from other bloggers. 'Cause I'm ruthless like that. And please, check out and follow Jess. She is the awesomest! (yeah, that's a word.)

Ten Things I am Lovin' Right Now:

1. The fact that Hubby and Kid are out with our friends at an Ice Cream Social thingy and I have the house to myself. (With my own bowl of ice cream and a screening of the movie Snatch, all to myself.)

2. Chillin' with my girlfriends and our kids during the week. We've got like twenty kids between us and they're all buddies. They swim, we gossip and talk about swimming laps for exersize and never quite get to it.

3. Iced Tea, by the gallon. It's hot out. Nothing but iced tea will do. Or booze. Whichever.

4. Our weekly date night with friends. Every Thursday is "date night". We go out to dinner, the movies, or just hang out at each other houses and play games and drink. This week it was take out and the game "Catch Phrase". It got funnier with each drink. Here is a taste of the conversation:

5. Family movie night. We've been having a lot of these lately. We're working our way through the classics. Princess Bride, Big, Goonies, etc.

6. No alarms in the morning!! woo hoo!! My daughter has this monkey alarm clock that drives me effing nuts during the school year!

7. The massive pile of books that I've got waiting for me!

8. Fireworks! Can't wait until the 4th! I Love me some fireworks!

9. The fact that I've got my job back for awhile. I know, I know. I complain. I want to go back to school. But Craig lost all his overtime right around the time I was considering quiting for good. They ran out of work for me for awhile, but I'm back. And we need it. I've definitly got enough work to keep me busy for the entire summer and then some.

10. Cold suppers, like salads and sandwiches. No oven! Easy clean-up!

Honest Scrap Award... for me??

The beautiful and amazing Dani over at Dani's Daily Drop gave me this award last week, and as usual, I am late posting it! Sorry, Dani! And by they way, you guys really need to go check her out. She rocks!

Anywho.. the rules for the award are as follows: you must take a picture of yourself in your underwear at the end of rainbow, riding a unicorn and post it on your blog. And then list 15 recipes that include the following ingredients: liver, grape jelly, and yams. Good luck.

Ok, actually you just have to list 10 honest things about yourself, in an effort for your readers to get to know you better. That's it! No handing over of your first born child! So here goes...

1. I am highly annoying. I laugh at my own jokes. Loudly. And they usually aren't funny.

2. I told my husband that I would forgo the baby fever if he would agree to three more pugs. I was holding Dexter on my hip and feeding him Cheerio's as I said this.

3. I wish the nineties would come back in style. I know it hasn't been that long.. but we've done the whole 80's thing a million times... when are doc martens and babydoll dresses gonna come back? I can still rock that look, right? RIGHT???

4. I am panicking trying to come up with ten things.

5. I want to volunteer at our local library, but the volunteer association is run by a bunch of really old ladies and I think I pissed them off when I said I couldn't work a Saturday flea market they scheduled. Now, I am getting the cold shoulder. The moth-ball smelling, wrinkly and sun-spotted cold shoulder.

6. My dream job would be working at a bookstore..but I don't like people. Or talking to them. Or touching their dirty money. Or getting dressed in the morning. So.. that dream is lying dormant for the moment. Instead, I will just stalk the bookstores in my pj bottoms, pretending they are the newest thing in fashion, and drink coffee. Can't I just get paid for that??

7. I don't do gardening. There is dirt involved. And bugs. And effort.

8. I'm sounding kinda bitchy, aren't I? What?! NO YOU DIDN'T just call me bitchy.

9. I am addicted to the show Rescue Me. I want to cry when the episodes are over because I want them to just keep going!!

10. I am not good at making lists of interesting things about myself.

25 Things.. prepare to be fascinated...

So, this has been going around facebook, but I'm draggin' it over here to blogger! The tag is simply that you list 25 random things about yourself. Why? I don't know... possibly so that people can see how insanely cool you are (or how pathetically boring, as in my case)

1. I call my laptop a "filthy, dirty whore" on a daily basis.
2. This woman with the octoplets pisses me off.
3. I could survive on coffee and cookies alone for years.
4. My pug smells like Fritos.. I don't know why.. he just does. It's his natural odor. No matter how many baths..
5. I watch Gossip Girl. They are the worst actors ever, and the plotlines hysterical, but I still watch. I don't know why.
6. I have passed on my love of immature humor to my daughter. When at work with her daddy the other day (who is a designer) she found a label that said "Butt Splice" on it and wore it for the rest of the day, giggling like a maniac.
7. I could spend a million dollars in Target.
8. I have a crush on Jack Black.
9. I have watched Wet Hot American Summer countless times.
10. My kid quotes snl skits. Her favorite is "I said weeeee"
11. She also does the "tommy want wingy" scene from Tommy Boy.
12. I could truly care less what type of car I drive. I just care where I am going.
13. One of my best friends is pregnant, and it makes me kinda sad.
14. I could not converse without sarcasm.
15. I want to go on vacation. Now.
16. If we had a bigger house, I'd have more dogs.
17. My hubs is hilarious. He makes me cry with laughter.
18. I miss having a little baby.
19. But I don't know if I can do it again.
20. Hubby is happy how we are.
21. I am mountain bike widow. Hubs is a mountain bike fiend and starting to road race now. Though it takes some time from us, I am glad he has his own hobby and I am very proud of his accomplishments.
22. I love the smell of napalm in the morning... (just seeing if your paying attention)
23. I sometimes wonder how life would be if we had stayed in Delaware.
24. I regret every fight I ever had with my husband. (even though they were his fault...lol)
25. Life is going by way too fast. I wish I could slow down time.
