Funny Friday!

Post something funny on your blog! Link up here and share it with us! Start your weekend with some laughs.

I have no "theme" this week, ya'll know what a slacker I've been this week.

Forest Gump, alternate ending.

The most popular song in our house... we sing it all the time...

So where've I Been??

Well, I've been here all along. Just hiding. I've been going through some stuff. Hubby and I have been fighting. We're ok now. I am trying to get my groove back.

Like I've said before, I've just been struggling with life in general. Trying to find my way and all that. Thank you all so much for all the words of encouragement! They worked! I'm back, bitches. (or at least, I am sticking my head in the window and waving!)

I don't have much to fill you in with right now. I truly haven't been up to much. Reading, as usual. Trying really hard to become a happy housewife. Trying to exercise regularly (and failing). I am also at war with those tiny little black ants that keep invading my kitchen and bathroom... where the hell do they come from???

Anyway, I don't have much to say... other than, I owe a visit to all of your blogs!! I'm a bad bloggy buddy!

Funny Friday - Baby Edition!!!

Start the weekend off right, post something funny on your blog! Link up here and promote yourself and make us laugh at the same time!

My theme this week is babies...

This is what dads really do when we go out for awhile.

Took a week off...

So, I don't know who noticed, but I took a week off of blogging. I've been in a funk. I had some thinking to do. Nothing huge, but some small changes I am trying to make in my life. To put it bluntly, I'm bored. Oh, so very bored. So I am volunteering at the local library and my daughter's school and looking into possibly going back to school in the next few months. I have a tendency towards depression, so it is not a good thing for me to not have a purpose during the day. I ran out of work to do for my job, so I'm not working from home anymore. I am not the stay at home all day type. I can't do it. So I am in search of a new life... what that means, I have no idea. But I'll let ya know when I find out.

Books #25-28, 3 I hated and 1 I loved...

A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick
I wanted to love this one! It sounded so good! A lonely, widowed man sends away for a mail order bride, hoping to make a happy life and start over. But... bleh. It was boring. I can see how the author tried to make it this suspenseful, lusty novel full of betrayal and heartache. But, all I got out of it was a lot of whining and wasted paragraphs full of plotting revenge that never quite pans out. The main characters were not likeable in the least, and the ending was just plain weird. I don't recommend it.
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

Oh my gosh, I loved this one. Such an epic story, filled with fairy tales and mystery. A four year old child is found on a boat dock in Australia in the early 1900's. She does not know her name or where she came from. All she has with her is a small white case and a book of fairy tales. She spends her adult life trying to find out who she really is and when she passes, her granddaughter picks up the trail. This book was so good and everything a good mystery should be. Usually I have mysteries figured out halfway through, but this one had me guessing until the end.
The Somnambulist by Jonathan Barnes

Urgh.. that's all I can say. Have you ever started a novel and found yourself thinking.. "Did I miss something? Is there a prequel to this book that I should have read?" From the beginning of this book I just felt as if the author was assuming that I knew certain things...where certain characters came from.. but I didn't. It just didn't make sense to me. I stuck out though in hopes that it would all make sense in the end, but it didn't.
The Reincarnationist by MJ Rose

This book was ok, not great. I just felt like I was reading the Davinci Code or something, and I didn't like the Divinci Code. I was bored about midway through.

I know these book reviews make no sense and are ridiculously short, but I've been busy and this is my way to keep track of the books I read.
